The implant provides a low profile design with a carefully considered curvature, allowing for the adaptation to the proximal aspect of the ulna and the shaft. The most proximal hole is easily bendable, should further contouring be required.
The proximal screw holes allow the placement of a maximum of three screws adjacent to the joint line. Two of these screws may be placed divergently. One or more shaft screws may then be placed rectangularly between them to allow for a true bi-planar fixation.
Suture holes are positioned on the plate to enable the surgeon to effectively apply the tension band technique to the olecranon. Additionally, the most proximal K-wire hole may be used in combination with a cortical screw in the oblong hole in order to apply interfragmentary compression.
